Welcome to the
Alderney Sailing Club

Alderney Sailing Club was formed in 1964 by a small band of enthusiasts to promote sailing in all its forms on the island. Over the years it has grown with the number of members now at about 700 with many people overseas joining to support the Club.
The Club supports dinghy sailing with a fleet of 420s, Lasers, Mirrors and from this year six Laser Picos, mostly owned by the Club. Junior members are especially welcome, with RYA instructors running courses in the summer.
There are a small number of cruising yachts based on the island which enjoy both visiting local ports and racing, with our own Round the Island Race the premier race. Visiting yachts are always welcome to join in.

There is also quite a fleet of power boats of all descriptions. With France only 8 miles away nothing could be better for some moules and wine.
During the winter RYA evening classes have proved very popular with local people.
The Club house, with a prominent position at the Harbour, is a welcoming place and any visiting yachtsperson can be guaranteed a warm reception. It is a meeting place for many overseas visitors and the bar is open every evening in the summer.

Alderney is in a great position for visitors - the gateway to the rest of the islands and the Brittany coast for British sailors and others coming down the Channel – any are welcome to visit us and find a very gem of an island.
